Synopsis:

Corny has her work cut out for her in "The Ex", Book Four in The Corny Myers Series.

Corny's excitement over serving on jury duty is squashed when she hears news of Steve's ex girlfriend relocating to Seattle.
Steve's an aggressive, tough, Seattle narcotics cop who thinks Celeste could do no wrong.
Celeste is back in town and has set her sights on rekindling her relationship with Steve. Being an FBI agent she's used to getting what she wants, no matter what the cost.
Corny is trying to keep her relationship from falling apart, while rescuing pets, and saving her friend from a loan shark.
Can Pete, Corny's ferret, learn how to use the phone in time to save the day?

Have you told Steve about the jury summons? You need to tell him how to take care of me in case you get sequestered. Pete grabbed his tail with his tiny paws and chewed on the tip, a sure sign he was agitated.
"How do you know I didn’t tell him already?" I knew what his answer would be, because his answer was always the same.
I have excellent hearing, Pete chattered.
"No. You're a little spying devil."
That's the only way I know what's going on around here. He pouted.
"I promise to tell Steve. You have nothing to worry about. I'll have to go through the jury selection process. If I did get selected for a case the chances of me being sequestered are slim. You'll be fine."
You better be right. He scurried down the hall.
Besides being an aggressive, tough, Seattle narcotics cop, Steve was my boyfriend. He looked sexy as hell in his faded jeans, Mariners T-shirt, sneakers and 9mm gun hooked to his belt. He'd grabbed a leather jacket out of the bedroom closet and flung the heavy material over his shoulder.
"Hey Steve, can you check on Pete real quick? I might've hurt the little guy's feelings."
"Sure. What am I looking for? Will he be blowing his nose or wiping his eyes with a tissue?" Steve asked.

Hi Jessica,

Thank you for having me on your blog today.

Today you're interviewing Steve Spears (Hero) and Corny Myers (Heroine) from
Flamingo Blues, Be Mine, Klutzy Love and the newly released, The Ex. An anthology of all four books will be released soon in eBook and print.

1.What are your names and can you tell us a little bit about yourselves?

My name is Corny Myers and with my shoulders back and my stomach sucked in I am five-feet-eight inches tall and weigh about one hundred and twenty five pounds. A monster hot dog and a side of cheesy fries can put me above that in a heartbeat.

My boyfriend Steve, never turns away from a challenge, he meets them head-on. One has to be aggressive, tough, and focused to be a Seattle narcotics cop.

2.How did you meet? Was it love at first sight?
Love maybe, lust definitely!
Steve was sweet, considerate, and a little bit wild and that was only part of the reason why, after a night of drinking margaritas with my girlfriends, I woke up in his wonderful king-size bed after a night of pure unadulterated bliss. The others were: he rode a hot motorcycle, smelled like Christmas, and was thorough—he hadn't missed an inch of my body.

4. What most annoys you about each other?
Steve will tell you I'm a klutz and will run into burning buildings for no reason. That's not completely true. I did think hospitals should give out punch cards. You could get a discount for multiple rides in an ambulance. If you ride more than six times in a year, your seventh ride should be free. I guess I was halfway there—what a sad state of affairs.
Steve doesn't like my profession as pet detective. If he knows what's good for him he'll get over it.

5. What do you most admire in the other person?
Steve admires my ability to bounce back from a concussion. I admire his awesome butt in jeans.

6. What keeps the romance working?
Lots and lots of hanky panky….

7. If you could have one wish come true, what would it be and why?
I want to find out if the widow was responsible for killing my old boss, Mr. Langfield. I'd happily been his executive assistant at Langfield Laboratories since college graduation. Unfortunately, he married a much younger woman and paid for his mistake with his lifehe croaked while he bungee jumped on his honeymoon. Why he agreed to be tied to a big rubber band was beyond me, especially since he was afraid of heights.
Why, for no other reason than he was my friend and confidant.

The ExThe Ex by Sharon Kleve

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was my first journey into the world of Corny Myers that Sharon Kleve has created. Corny is a pet detective that can speak telepathically to animals. This book was very short, but managed to fit a lot of story in. I have to say there were a couple of times that I laughed out loud, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Some of the writing was a little choppy and jerky, but it kind of works in the sense that it sort of mimics Corny's personality. She is really sort of a spaz.

Corny is a genuinely funny person that always seems to be getting herself in trouble. I loved her naughty sense of humor, and off the wall comments. And the conversations between her and her pet ferret Pete were hysterical!

When the climax of the story happened,I would have liked a little bit more of a confrontation between Corny and her boyfriend Steve's psycho ex, instead of Corny hiding outside and letting Steve handle it. Celeste (the ex) definitely needed a Corny smackdown.

Anyway, I really liked this story, Corny, and the other colorful characters that I was introduced to briefly. I will definitely be checking out more books by Sharon Kleve.

Author Bio:
Sharon Kleve was born and raised in Washington and currently lives on the Olympic Peninsula with her husband.
She loves romance. She loves reading romance, living romance, and especially loves writing about romance. She gets no greater feeling than watching her characters come alive in each other's arms. Most of all, she loves giving her characters the happily ever after they deservewith a few bumps and bruises along the way.
One of her favorite things to do is picking up a new book and sinking into the story, immersing herself in the emotions between the characters. She hopes to inspire her readers the same way her favorite authors have inspired her.
When not writing, she can usually be found either curled up in her recliner with her cat and a good book, or in the kitchen baking sourdough bread or bagels.
