Book Review: Sex Love Repeat by Alessandra Torre

Sex Love Repeat Blog Tour Banner
I love two men. I screw two men. I am in a relationship with them both, and they are both aware there is another. That is all they need to know, that is all I let them know. They don’t need to know a name; they don’t need to know anything, but that they are not alone in my heart.

They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.

So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.

I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.

She hates me.

I don’t even know she exists.

She loves them. I love them.

And they love me.

EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was such a wonderful surprise! This is the first book I have read by Alessandra Torre, and I really, really enjoyed it. It is a short read - I was able to finish it in a couple of hours. Plus, I didn't want to put it down!

This book was not a cookie-cutter book by any means. The plot was interesting and original, and the characters were great. There was a lot of characterization and development that occurred in such a short amount of time. I loved and empathized with each of the three main characters: Madison, Stewart and Paul. They are involved in a crazy love triangle that surprisingly enough seems to work for them. Madison met Stewart first and they began a very intense sexual relationship. However, Stewart is basically married to his job and has no time to develop a meaningful relationship with Madison. They are limited to sporadic encounters in between business meetings and phone calls. Eventually, Stewart falls in love with her and hates that he can't give her everything she needs to keep her happy. So, he suggests that she finds a steady boyfriend to have on the side that can entertain her and keep her company when Stewart is too busy for her. Paul is who Madison finds. She didn't go out looking for a boyfriend though. They met innocently while standing in line for a carnival ride. They hit it off immediately. When Madison explains to him the situation that she is in, and that he can ultimately only have half of her heart and will have to share her with another man, Paul says he can't do it. However, he ends up changing his mind because he is already drawn to Madison in such a strong way. So, this is how their lives play out for a little over two years. Paul and Madison live together and love each other, and basically have the normal lives most couples have. But when Stewart calls, Madison leaves to go be with him for whatever amount of time he can spare her. Both men love Madison in their own way, and she loves both of them. Their relationships work as long as they are kept separate. But that all changes when Madison is seriously injured in a surfing accident. Then the two halves of her life crash together. Also, unknown to her, and to the men, there is another woman that has been stalking and watching their odd little trio. And she is determined to interfere with their happy little lives.

This story was so well written, and flowed so seamlessly that it was super enjoyable to read. Plus, the twists and turns that kept popping up kept me guessing and were really what made the story great. I didn't see the big twist coming, but I liked it and was happy with how it played out. And then the second twist in the epilogue was just icing on the cake. I loved it, and it was just perfect how the whole story seemed to come full circle. Even though it was a short read it didn't feel hurried or lacking. Everything was given the time that it needed to work out the way that it should.

I definitely recommend this book if you like to read romance and erotica with a good dose of suspense thrown in. You won't regret it!
