Eversea, a love story, is a Winter Rose Contest FINALIST 2013. Emilia Pisani of Simon & Schuster (judge) says "Great southern flavor!" and "Jack is an alluring leading man!"

An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her new director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided ... and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

Wow, this was just one of those perfect books that you read from start to finish and love every minute of it. It is basically a story about a small town girl's fairy tale come to life.

Kerri Ann Butler lives in a small town and seems to be stalled out in life. Then one day, mega famous movie star Jack Eversea shows up incognito at the restaurant where she waitresses. He is hiding out from the press after a bad breakup from his equally famous girlfriend, and he elicits Kerri Ann's promise to help him stay hidden. One thing leads to another, and the sparks fly between these two. However, Kerri Ann knows it's not a good idea to get involved with Jack, and Jack knows the same thing. He is under contractual obligation to get back together (at least in the spotlight) with his girlfriend Audrey Lane, and he admits to Kerri Ann that while their relationship might be mostly for publicity, at one time it was real. But the chemistry is too strong between Kerri Ann and Jack and they give in to their feelings for each other. But fairy tales usually come to an end, and this was no different. When Audrey Lane shows up in town looking for Jack and drops a bombshell in his lap, she not only destroys the brand new romance Kerri Ann and Jack had begun, but she also destroys Kerri Ann's heart.

I loved the slow build of the romance between Jack and Kerri Ann. While they were attracted to each other at first, Kerri Ann doesn't let his fame turn her into a simpering groupie. She stands her ground with Jack from the beginning, and earns his respect. Even when they get to know each other a little better and acknowledge the pull between them, they still take it slow. It gave a really authentic feel to how their relationship grew, and made it believable. Plus, it let the reader get to know both Jack and Kerri Ann a little better, and let us invest more heavily in their relationship and the outcome.

While this book does have a slow simmer going on with the romance factor, the pacing is right on, so it never dragged or sped by. Plus, the tension was crazy high by the time Jack and Kerri Ann finally gave in to their sexual cravings, and the book went from PG-13 to sexy hot real quick!

I loved this book, and loved these characters! The ending is a pretty big cliffhanger, and they don't get their HEA just yet, so I can't wait to jump right in to book two.

"The way I feel about you was never a decision. It just was. I was made to love you. I never fell, I was already there. From the very first moment."
~~Jack Eversea

I couldn't wait to jump right back into the story of Jack and Kerri Ann, and I have to tell you, I wasn't disappointed!

Forever Jack picks up right where Eversea left off, so it was super easy to slip right back into Jack and Kerri Ann's story. Jack has been sucker punched by life, and learns that not only did he leave Kerri Ann based on a lie, but now there are other circumstances outside his control that are still trying to keep him from her.

I felt Jack's frustration and his pain. However, it made me so mad in the beginning that he didn't just go to Kerri Ann and explain everything. I mean, she was hurting too in a bad way, and she had no idea what was going on. When Jack FINALLY does show back up in Butler Cover to try and make things right with Kerri Ann, she has moved on. Or at least, she keeps trying to tell herself that she has.

Luckily for us, and for Kerri Ann, Jack is very persistent. And sexy. And sincere. And sexy....... But, even once Kerri Ann accepts the reasons why he had to leave her and forgives him, their relationship is still not smooth sailing. The reality still remains that she is an ordinary small town girl who is just beginning to find herself and her passion, and she is scared of being swallowed up and spit out by the machine and overwhelming entity that is Jack Eversea.

Jack keeps trying to tell her and show her over and over again that while the world and his fans may have what's on the outside, she will forever have his heart, and know the real person behind his famous smile. The question that Kerri Ann keeps asking is, "Will it, and she, ever really be enough?"

There were times during the book that I wanted to smack Kerri Ann and tell her to quit being scared and just go all in and trust Jack, but I can also understand why she is so afraid of being burned. I mean come on, this is every girl's fantasy - getting to really be with the man of their dreams - how can you not doubt yourself, and him, and not expect to one day wake up and realize it wasn't real?

I did feel like the ending of the story was a little rushed. It felt like there were too many things hanging around to really be resolved that quickly. Jack and Kerri Ann's story was all tied up with a bow by the time the last page rolled around, but I probably could have read a whole other full length novel about them, lol! Plus, there were several other honorable mention favorite characters that I would love to read about in books of their own.

Overall, loved this book just as much as the first! This was a great read that let me indulge in the fantasy of falling in love with a Hollywood superstar. It was just greatness!

  1. I love it when I enjoy a sequel just as much as book 1 I find it's become so rare! It does help when I can read both back to back though bc my memory is so crappy >.< I'll have to keep an eye out for this one for myself though they sound right up my alley and good to know about the cliffhanger in book 1!

  2. Thank you so much for the lovely reviews <3

Thank you so much for your comment! I read each and every one of them, I swear. :)
